Booking & deposits

How do I book?

Choose a treatment and a time on the booking page and send your request. I’ll confirm within 24 hours and then ask for your deposit. Nothing is charged until I confirm. You can also message me.

How does the deposit work?

Your deposit secures your appointment and comes off your treatment price on the day, so it isn’t an extra charge. The amount depends on the treatment and is shown with it on the prices page and when you book. Some consultations need no deposit; the booking page shows which before you confirm.

When is my deposit refunded?

Your deposit is refunded in full if:

  • you cancel or move at least 48 hours before your appointment
  • you cancel within your 14-day right to cancel (below)
  • I have to cancel or move your appointment
  • I find at your consultation that treatment isn’t right for you
  • you decide at your consultation not to go ahead
  • you can’t be treated on the day for a health reason, such as a cold sore or feeling unwell [[ASK Q48]]

If you cancel later than 48 hours before your appointment, or don’t come, the deposit is kept to cover the time I reserved for you. The exception is cancelling within 14 days of the day you booked: your legal right to cancel means the deposit is refunded in full, as long as the treatment hasn’t been carried out. And if I’m able to give your time to another client, I’ll refund your deposit [[ASK Q48: in full, or less a £x admin charge]].

Read the booking & deposit policy

Can I move or cancel my appointment?

Yes. Use the link in your confirmation email to move or cancel online up to 48 hours before your appointment, or message me. If it’s closer to the time than that, message me and I’ll do what I can.

What is my 14-day right to cancel?

Because you book online or by message, the law gives you 14 days from the day you book to cancel for any reason and get a full refund. If your appointment falls inside those 14 days and you ask for it to go ahead, you lose that right once the treatment has been carried out.

How do I pay on the day?

By [[ASK Q65: card, cash or bank transfer]]. Your deposit has already come off the price.

Can I book a consultation without committing to treatment?

Yes. You can book a general consultation (£[[ASK]]), and there’s no obligation to book anything afterwards.

Your first appointment

Do I need a consultation first?

Yes, always. For lip filler and skin boosters, the consultation is part of the same appointment: we talk first, and treatment only goes ahead if it’s right for you and you’re happy. For dermal filler you book a consultation on its own first.

What happens at my first appointment?

I check your photo ID, then we talk: what you’d like, your health history, any medicines and any previous treatments. I explain what I recommend, the risks and the price, and you sign a consent form. Only then, if treatment is right for you and you’re happy, do we go ahead. You leave with written aftercare.

What should I bring?

Photo ID (a passport, a photocard driving licence or a PASS proof-of-age card), a list of any medicines you take, and, if you’ve had treatment elsewhere, roughly when and what was used. Please arrive with clean skin and no make-up on the area.

Can I have time to think before treatment?

Always. You can stop after the consultation and book the treatment for another day. Your deposit moves to the treatment appointment when you book it, or is refunded in full if you decide not to go ahead. [[ASK Q49: if you require thinking time for first-time clients, state it here]]

What if I’m running late?

Message me as soon as you can. If you’re more than [[ASK Q47: number]] minutes late, there may not be time to carry out your full treatment, and we may need to rebook.

Do you take my medical history online?

No. Your medical history is taken in person at your appointment and kept in your treatment record, never through this website. Please don’t put health details in the booking notes or in messages.

Lip filler

Does lip filler hurt?

Your comfort matters. Numbing is used where appropriate, and I’ll talk you through what to expect before we start. You may feel a pinch and some pressure, and you can ask me to pause at any point.

How long does lip filler last?

It’s temporary, and it varies from person to person with the product, the amount and how your body breaks it down. [[ASK Q31: product duration from the instructions for use]] I’ll give you an honest expectation at your consultation.

When can I have a top-up?

Wait until any swelling has fully settled, at least two weeks, so we can both see your real result first. [[ASK Q31: your top-up window and price]]

What is filler migration?

Migration is when filler moves away from where it was placed, for example above the lip line. Several things are thought to contribute, including large amounts placed at once and very frequent top-ups, which is one reason I recommend building up gradually. If you think filler you’ve had elsewhere has moved, book a general consultation and we’ll look at it together.

What if I don’t like filler I’ve had?

If filler you’ve had, here or elsewhere, has moved, feels lumpy, or you no longer like how it looks, book a general consultation. We’ll go through what was used and when, look at it together and talk about your options, including doing nothing. Nothing is decided or done on the day.

Book a consultation

How much lip filler should I have?

I offer 0.5ml, 0.7ml, 1.1ml and 2.2ml. 0.5ml is often enough for a first treatment or a subtle change; 1.1ml gives a more noticeable one. We decide together at your consultation.

Health

Can I have treatment if I get cold sores?

Usually, yes, but tell me at your consultation, because lip treatments can trigger a cold sore in people who get them. If you have one on the day, or feel one coming, message me and we’ll move your appointment until it has fully healed. Your pharmacist can advise if you get them often.

Can I have treatment while pregnant or breastfeeding?

No. Fillers and skin boosters haven’t been tested for use in pregnancy or while breastfeeding, so I’ll ask you to wait until you’ve finished breastfeeding.

I take medication. Can I still have treatment?

Usually, yes, but tell me about everything you take, including supplements. Some, such as blood thinners, aspirin and ibuprofen, can increase bruising, and a few conditions or medicines mean we shouldn’t go ahead. Never stop a medicine you’ve been prescribed without speaking to whoever prescribed it.

Do I need a patch test?

Most filler and skin booster treatments don’t need one. I’ll tell you when you book if yours does. [[ASK Q49: which treatments need a patch test, and how far ahead]]

I’m unwell on the day. What should I do?

Please don’t come, and message me as soon as you can. We’ll move your appointment, and your deposit moves with it [[ASK Q48: or is refunded, if you prefer]].

What if I have a reaction after treatment?

Follow the aftercare guide for your treatment, which explains what’s normal. Contact me straight away if your skin turns white, patchy or dusky, or if pain is severe or getting worse. Call 999 for any change in your eyesight, signs of a stroke, swelling of your throat or difficulty breathing.

Age & ID

Do you treat anyone under 18?

No. Since 1 October 2021 it has been against the law in England to give cosmetic filler injections to anyone under 18, or to book them in, and parental consent makes no difference. I apply the same age limit to every treatment I offer, and I check photo ID at your first appointment.

What ID do I need?

A passport, a photocard driving licence, or a proof-of-age card with the PASS hologram. Looking older isn’t enough, so please bring it even if you’re sure you look over 18. Without ID I can’t treat you, and we’ll rebook [[ASK Q49: what happens to the deposit]].

Safety & regulation

Who can legally give filler in the UK?

At the moment, no law in England says who can inject cosmetic filler, as long as the client is 18 or over. That’s why it matters to ask any practitioner about their training, their insurance, the product they use and what they’d do in an emergency.

Who can do lip filler in the UK?

Is there a licence for aesthetics practitioners?

Not yet. The government plans a licensing scheme for non-surgical cosmetic procedures in England, but it hasn’t started, so no one can hold a licence today. Be wary of anyone who describes themselves as “licensed”.

Who regulates cosmetic injections?

There’s no single regulator. The CQC doesn’t currently regulate cosmetic injections, Bristol City Council doesn’t currently require registration for them, and voluntary registers such as the JCCP and Save Face list practitioners who meet their standards.

What training do you have, and are you insured?

I hold Certificates of Completion in Foundation Dermal Filler, Skin Booster, and Anatomy & Physiology for Aesthetics from Secret Aesthetics & Beauty Academy (CPD-accredited, September 2026), and I’m insured through Beauty Insured, £1,000,000 cover. The details are on my About page, and certificates are available on request.

What happens if something goes wrong?

Tell me straight away. Your aftercare sheet lists the signs that need urgent attention and how to reach me. If a treatment hasn’t gone the way you hoped, I’ll talk it through openly with you, and if you’d like to make a complaint, my complaints page explains how.

Complaints & concerns

What should a lip filler price cover?

A price covers more than the filler: the product’s quality and source, training, insurance, being ready for a rare complication, and the time a proper consultation takes.
